Short cut fiber reinforced concrete is one of the hot topics in the civil engineering fieldat present. In this paper the mechanic properties of the concrete reinforced with themicro-steel fibers and polypropylene were studied systematically. The main works andconclusions are as follows:1) The influence of the hybrid way of the two type fibers on the mechanic propertieswas studied. Based on the contrast test results on the plain concrete, the concretereinforced with steel fibers, the concrete reinforced with polypropylene fibers, theconcrete with layered reinforced with steel fibers and the hybrid reinforced with thetwo fibers, the mechanic properties were analyzed and main mechanic propertiesindex for the hybrid reinforced were obtained.2) The influence of the hybrid way on the fracture properties was studied. Based on theexperiment results, the fracture ductility index KIC and the fracture energy GFwere obtained for the hybrid reinforced concrete; the interface damage betweenconcrete matrix and the fibers subject cyclic loadings and the influence on theloading capacity were investigated.3) Based on the fiber reinforcement theory, the reinforcement function of the fiberswere studied. through the analyse of the failure pattern, the reinforcing and failuremechanism of the layered hybrid fiber were investigated.4) Based on the experiment, the deflection curves for the five types concrete wereanalyzed with Finite Element Method (FEM). Comparing with the experiment results, the data obtained from the FEM simulation was reasonable and it is proved that thesimulated way is feasible for the short cut fiber reinforced concrete.
