Lime-soil pile foundation is a convenient, economic and effective method of dealing with collapsible loess foundation, which is applied in construction widely. However, the research of it drops far behind from the practical needs recently. Thus, this paper has a further discussion about the mechanism and basic characteristics of lime-soil and lime-soil foundation.Firstly, this paper analyses the shear strength and compressibility of compactive loess and lime-soil with different lime content, the influences of lime content, water content, age on lime-soil compactibility, shear strength and compressibility. Then, a quantitative analysis is held for the effect of lime-soil pile on collapsible loess. The result states that: lime content has obvious impact on lime-soil compactibility, shear strength and compressibility; water content is another important factor influencing shear strength and compressibility as maintenance age. This paper educes the optimal water content, the max dry weight, the max cohesion, the max angel of internal friction and the variational law of lime-soil under different proportions; the law of shear strength changed with the maintenance age. It also provides several suggestions as references for constructors and designers.This paper did experimental research aimed for the actual effect of lime-soil pile foundation. The result shows that lime-soil pile has obviously improved the foundation construction. The new structure has taken instead of the former one by the disturbance of soil between the piles. The mechanic features has get recovery and improved, the collapsible has basically been eliminated.Finally, this paper analyses finite elements of the lime-soil pile foundation; it discusses the critical pile length and effects of single pile multiplex foundation; it analyses the stress distribution under the pressure p. It shows that the critical pile length gets longer with the diameter getting longer; there is little effect with the proportion and hole feature. At the same time, it concludes the elastic answers and critical elastic capacity and the formulation of P & C. Then apply a group of data to take compares. Finally, it gets the conclusion that there are less lime-soil compaction piles to meet the same compactive effect.
