| With the rapid development of model logistic industrial, logistic machines and equipment are getting more and more important due to the increasing demand for logistic transportation. As a type of logistic transportation equipment, the cranes play a more and more important role in modern times manufacture progress.The port crane is getting bigger and heavier, and also moves much faster than before due to the rapid growth of industrial requirements. As the results, the contact pressure between rail and wheel became very high. Therefore, the danger of the sudden failure of the wheel is round the corner. It is necessary to study the rail-wheel contact stresses, and also base on this study to improve the design of port crane wheel. The official handbook of crane design in China is based on HCT. However, there are two limiting conditions for the applications of the HCT:·The contact between elastic bodies should be frictionless;·The significant dimensions of the contact area should be much smaller than the dimensions and the radii of curvature, which should remain unchanged, of the bodies in contact.The first condition is approximately satisfied for rolling contact. The second condition is often violated when the plastic deformation happened both in the wheel and in the rail, especially in cases with high axle loads, which is the normal work condition of the port crane these days. The design theory based on HCT is illogicality in some case.Main works of this paper are listed as follow:1. Aimed to gain the resent research and development trend by consulting literatures in this field.2. Set up the three-dimensional solid model of crane wheel-rail system.3. Based on the theoretical research and combining the characteristic of ANSYS software, the convergent solution of contact problems can be obtained.4. The wheel-rail contact problems of elastic material are analyzed and the results are compared with HCT theory.5. The contact problem of elastic material and the contact problem of elasto-plastic material are considered and compared.6. The computation of point-contact and line-contact in elastic and elasto-plastic states of rail-wheel contact are analyzed in this paper and compared.7. The contact stresses between rail and wheel of all states are obtained and compared. Base on the above analysis result and study, some advises have made for wheel-rail design of crane. |
