GaSb thermophotovoltaic(TPV) cell has a broad application prospect. Its main advantages are including these: high theoretical efficiency, less noises, high reliability, high ratio of volume to power ratio, high ratio of weight to power.The dissertation has mainly studied the material and the fabrication craft of GaSb TPV cell. First, it has expatiated on the background of the subject, the knowledge of TPV systems and TPV cell, the domestic and foreign development, the solar cell's manufacturing process and so on. Second, it has discussed the preparation and properties of GaSb material. It has thoroughly analyzed the crystal structure, energy band, electrical properties and optical properties of the GaSb material. Three methods to growing GaSb crystal have also been discussed. Third, it has analyzed the principles of how TPV cell to generate electricity, semiconductor's compound process. It also learned some important parameters, such as equivalent circuit, output power, fill factor and efficiency, on the base of the management of the p-n junction theoretical model. Finally, it has studied the manufacture craft of TPV cells, including preparations for the substrate, surface cleaning, plate-making, photolithography. It also has tested some parameters of semiconductor materials and partial electric properties of finished products.Depend on experiments, it has explored a whole craft to manufacture GaSb TPV cells. It has studied the cleaning methods, the technology of diffusing process and photolithography process with emphasis. To raise TPV cell's efficiency, the principle and the preparation method of reflection layer have been learned carefully too.
