Quadrax Contacts is a new type Device which can be used in the high speed Differential Signal transmitting network. Also it can be matched with Differential Signal in transmitting. Because of these advantages, it has been broadly used. The highest transmitting speed of Quadrax Contacts is 1Gbit/sec, generally used in 100M ethereal, so it is called Ethernet Quadrax Contacts abroad.Recent years, Quadrax Contacts has been gradually developed as one of the important solutions of high speed transmitting network system using copper medium. The Quadrax Contact of Independent research and development need to be tested, and then can be determined whether it can be used in engineering. Because of the problem of structure and physical connecting, the the test system can not be easily established.The test method of Quadrax Contact has been discussed in the paper which based on the factor upon.And the study has three aspects below:(1) Discuss the basic ideal of how to test by Studying and analysising the theory about the Quadrax Contacts and Differential Signal;(2) The 50Ωbalanced to 100Ωunbalanced 1:2 Transmission-line balun is designed, solving the problem about physical connecting;(3) Based on the measurement of twisted Pair lines, the test method of Quadrax Contacts'VSWR, characteristic impendence, attenuation and Crosstalk has been established.Measured results indicate that the VSWR of single port of Quadrax Contact is 1.21, VSWR of dual port is 1.1; the characteristic impendence is100±20Ω; attenuation is 0.5dB and the Crosstalk is 60.4dB. All the measured results achieved the targets. The inclusion indicates that the test method in this paper can relatively accurately measure the high speed parameters of Quadrax Contact.
