The traditional shooting measures based on predicting future point of target were difficult to ensure bitting the target and wasted a lot of shells while enemy flying target's mobility continuously enhancing in modern warfare. At present the various traditional domestic shooting systems have their own scope of application, and they can't preferably reserve the problem when they are used in the army high-speed small-calibers artillery against air maneuverable targets. The Future Airspace Window (FAW) has been studied at home and in the early 1990s and at abroad in the mid-1980s, but practically it's just used on navy guns. How the army artillery against air targets of high-maneuverability is still in the phase of theoretical research.There was a premise supposition that hitting means damage in this paper. The damage probability refers to probability of at least one shell hitting target.Considering the practical engineering background, the damage probability of FAW is analyzed. The result shows that FAW system is viable and effective when it's used to improve the damage probability of antiaircraft artillery against air targets of high- maneuverability.Firstly, the mathematical description and the general concept of FAW are introduced and the precondition of the FAW's realization is proposed. Then the method of the elliptical construction of FAW and the demonstration of this method are also introduced. According to needs of wartime in different circumstances, this paper presents two measures of optimizing the method on practical application and the scope of the two optimization method. And the numerical simulation has been made to verify the validity of the conclusion.Secondly, detailed analysis of random errors and systematic errors in the process of anti-aircraft artillery firing has been described, and the random errors are simplified based on the general method of classification according to the correlation. The correlation coefficient of weak correlated random error is calculated using least squares method, so the random errors ultimately are classified as correlated errors and misrelated errors.Then target model is assumed and hitting point and errors are shifted to apply to FAW. The damage probability of FAW is calculated and corresponding numerical simulations are given. Mathematical analysis and numerical simulations show that the damage probability of FWA is higher than that of traditional shooting system in the whole FWA's window when air targets of high-maneuverability don't appear on the predicting future point. Finally some simple numerical simulations have been given to analyze how the damage probability of FWA is influenced, which can provide a useful reference to engineering application.
