With the contraction of the global energy sources and the enhancement of the environment consciousness, the clean energy sources have gotten the large development for these years. Generating with wind power is developing speedily, as one major form in the field of clean energy sources. The technique of wind power generating has been tending to mature, unit capacity is increasing incessantly. The wind power generator has the mostly action as one of the major part in the system of wind power generating. The direct-drive permanent magnet wind power generator is preferentially adopted because of its advantage such as simple configuration, high efficiency and without speed-down box.The research of direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power generator is still in the initial stage in our country. This paper does some discussions and researches on the calculation of starting resistant torque and heat calculation of the direct-drive permanent magnet wind power generator.Firstly, this paper obtains some calculation methods of starting resistant torque of the permanent magnet wind power generator base on different theories, by studying the starting resistant torque, and compiles the calculation programs with matlab. This paper also discusses some common methods of reducing the torque, such as combinations of pole number with slot number, choice of pole-arc coefficient and adoption of different slot widths.Secondly, this paper researches the temperature calculation with the hot-path method by analyzing the heat of permanent magnet wind generator, and then procedure is compiled with visual basic.Thirdly, this paper does Field Analysis on the starting resistant torque and heat calculation of direct-drive permanent magnet wind power generator with Ansoft and ANSYS.Finally, according to the permanent magnet synchronous generator's basic theory and the design program of permanent magnet wind generator, we designed a 10kW direct-drive permanent magnet wind power generator and tested it, the result can satisfy the request comparing the calculating result. And then on the basic of the designing of 10kW generator, this paper obtains the design parameter of the 2MW generator and calculates the starting resistant torque and heat. This paper also does some optimization on the starting resistant torque with the methods mentioned behind.
