In recent years, the automotive industry has expanded swiftly. On the other side, the shortage of petroleum resources and the increasingly serious pollution Caused by the automobile exhaust emissions, bringing serious challenges to the further development of the automobile industry. Hydrogen, as an alternative engine fuel, has its unique advantages in improving the economy and reducing engine smoke emissions. Diesel engine has been used in many fields and is playing an important role in people's life, so to develop a dual fuel engine from the base of diesel is a concernful research direction for engines which consume alternative fuel.Based on the detailed research on dual fuel engine at present and the positive features of hydrogen, this paper provided an electronic control Hydrogen supply system to fulfill the function of dual fuel on the diesel engine. The MC68HC908U12 single-chip microprocessor was used as the kernel of electronic control unit (ECU). The KEIHIN hydrogen gas injector was used as the actuator.This system was matched with theYC6J190-20 diesel engine. The comparison of power performance, economy and emissions performance between original engine and the Hydrogen/diesel dual fuel engine were made. The results show that the system has a higher safety and reliability, and is effective in reducing emissions.At the end of this paper, a summarization was presented and the work direction of next step is discussed.
