Since the improvement step of industrialization change to fast, the products both the material and culture have been more and more. Along with the abundance life, people's spirit of independence, freedom and individuality is more important for us. Otherwise, the model of traditional industrial manufacturing with mass lot size and standardization isn't up to the current market request. How to solve it? This is the cause of MC(mass-configuration) theory. For short, MC theory. MC theory is created basing on the other theories, including standardization, modularization, lean production, and combining with the advantage of the traditional manufacturing model. The special list of MC theory is that most little type of model meeting to the broadest customer's request. The purpose of this is that reduce the cost of product and short the time of customer response on the hand; on the other hand, well meet the customer's remind. It is the balance spot between the standard producing and individual request of customer. Combing with the fact of our company, we use the MC theory in the pressure reducing valve system, design by the model, class by the product family, create the part number using the ERP system and define, design and manufacture by the CAD and CAM software, delay configuration spot. The result is to reduce the cost much and improve the quality of design, short the time of design and producing, meet the aim that using the least cost to gain the most reward. There has been the successful case of company using MC theory; DELL IT Company is the typical which approves the MC theory well. I believe that it is the new and will be the direction of modern manufacturing model. It will be popularized in china in the near future!...
