The harmonic pollution of power system is becoming more and more serious with the wide use of power electronic equipment in power system. As one of the most effective solutions to suppress harmonics, Active Power Filter (APF) that can trace and compensate harmonics whose frequencies and amplitudes vary and its compensation characteristics is immune to the impedance variation of the utility, attracts more attention from people. Therefore, research on APF has momentous the oretical significance and great practical value.As for the fault in compensative current controlling, advanced Space Vector Modulation (SVM) based on hysteresis current controller, which has fast transient response and high precision, is adopted in this thesis. A timer comparator instead of hysteresis current controller is used to limit its maximum switching frequencies and decrease its average switching frequency at the same time. At first the paper analyzes in detail the principles of space vector pulse width modulate (SVPWM),and then it research on the principle how the fundamental vector constitute the vector of reference and how it can limit the swithing frequency . Further combining the above harmonic current detection method and SVPWM control strategy to compose active power filter system, and carry out overall numerical simulation. Simulation results show that the system which owns the advantage of rapid response and high precision can accurately and rapidly detect and compensate the harmonic current and decrease its average switching frequency , which is based on the comparision with the traditional hysteresis current controller.Based on the programs of current detection and compensation, design of the whole APF system for software and hardware is finished. The main part of the hardware test circuit is built respective and the experimental study is completed. Integration control system software process, harmonic current detection, SVPWM and other procedures are developed and achieved in the digital signal processor (DSP TMS320F2812).
