Damage in reinforced concrete structures accumulates gradually because of effects of cyclic load, circumstance erosion, material aging and other deficiencies during their service life. The incremental damage decreases existing structures' carrying capacity and thus the capacity to resist external disaster. When the earthquake occurs, they may be destroyed badly. So, the task to study the degradation law and designing theory of reinforced concrete structures in seismic performance, estimate seismic performance of existing reinforced concrete structures and perfect the designing theory of seismic resistance have important theory significance and construction value. This article has studied the ductility of section and component, and the restoring force models, though the damage reinforced concrete member's nonlinear analysis. The main contents of this paper are :1. Discussed the degradation law of reinforcement, concrete and the bond performance of rebar to concrete, and concluded the constitutive model of reinforcement corrosion, concrete deterioration and bond degradation.2. Used the constitutive model of reinforced concrete material degradation, studied the ductility variation rule of reinforced concrete components and sections .Showed the correlativity between the degradation of reinforced concrete material and the ductlility of reinforced concrete components and sections.3. Analysed the effect of steel corrosion to the restoring force models, and the restoring force models of reinforced concrete structures in different damage degree.4. Used the finite element analysis software SAP2000 modelling a reinforced concrete frame structure of single span and using this model the push-over analysis, studied the regularity of seismic performance in different corrosion ratio. The study disclose the differences of seismic performance between new structures and damage structures . The pros and cons of current analytical method are formulated .
