Tension control is a key technology during the fiber winding process, it results in a direct influence to the quality of products. The reasonable tension could be brought into effect exactly and stably depend on the tension control system.In this paper, the development and application of composite material is reviewed first, then fiber winding technique and tension controller at home and abroad is summarized. A multi-path closed loop tension control system, which is chosen industry computer and function mould boards as the main controller and alternating numeric servo-electromotor as the servo element, a follower arm compensating the change of radius, is put forward after analyzed and studied the composition and operational principle of tension control system alternating numeric servo-electromotor works in the moment control mode, using the moment and speed feedback signals in the servo system implements tension closed loop control, which improves the tension control precision. Servo-electromotor act as executing element and taking back motor, as predigests the system.In this paper, a mathematical model of the tension control system is founded. The operational principle of control system is analyzed. After studied PID control and digital PID control, author suggests that integral separated PID control method should be used in the system.In software design, Visual C++IDE,Windows programming technology and man-machine conversation is applied. The method of utilizing the DLL functions provided by data acquisition board and software resource in the computer makes program easier and resource more useful. On the basis of the control scheme, the functions of the main, function modules are analyzed. Control system software are exploited.After the calibration of tension controller in the experiment, the online debug for tension control system should start. The precision and the wave rate are figured out by the experiment and the analysis of the result. The feasibility of the control theme is proved. The tension control system has many good characteristics such as good stability, quick reaction velocity, high control precision.
