The construction of high speed railways and expressways are in the ascendant at present in China and outstanding progress have been made regarding to construction quality and administration level. Especially, landslides enforcement technology has been accumulated after many years' probe and practice by a lot of engineers, enriching sophisticated experience in treating with landslides improvement and protection. For cutting slop locating in complex geology condition, improper construction and design might cause more capital investment and longer construction period, leaving uncertainty in operation. So correct understanding the stability of slopes and take effective enforcement measures for slopes are key components to ensure safety.This thesis, aiming to study complex high cutting slope, together with the treatment with the slopes along the zone IDK331+320 to IDK331+590 in Luo-Zhan railway, performs series of studies in terms of deformation failure mechanism, failure styles, slope stability analysis method and comprehensive protection measures, by which the following conclusions are obtained:(1) Analyze the influence factors of stability of cutting slopes, proposing that all factors could be divided into two parts: internal factor and external factor. Internal factor comprises: soil catalog of the slope, rock/soil structure, geology stress, et al; external factor includes: effect of water and earthquake, shape of the slope and interrupt of human being, et al.(2) Analyze the failure styles of slopes, which could be divided into slide, and finite deformation style.(3) Analyze the general rock/soil strength theory and failure criteria for slope stability analysis. Based on mechanism constitutive models from rock/soil strength theory and monitoring results in-situ, criteria for judging the stability of the cutting slopes are proposed.(4) Analyze the anti-slide piles' pushing forces, pile spaces, embedded depths and calculation models, et al, and discuss the protection of the surface and drainage measures of the cutting slopes.(5) The post-enforcement stability condition of the cutting slopes along the zone IDK331+320 to IDK331+590 in Luo-Zhan railway are analyzed on ABAQUS platform. It is proved that the scheme that reducing loads by brushing the landslides at upside and meanwhile, setting anti-slide piles at the toe of the landslides achieves good effects, satisfying the construction requirement.(6) The treatment scheme that reducing loads by brushing the landslides at upside and meanwhile, setting anti-slide piles at the toe of the landslides plays the role of stabilizing the whole slope; meanwhile for the surface, both squares tone masonry arch type water resistance skeleton protection and turf/shrub protection are adopted, and complete water resistance/drainage facilities are set up, achieving the results of comprehensive treatment of the cutting slope.
