Engineering practice of tunneling under existing road has appeared frequently in recent years. It is necessary to investigate the construction contral measures of protecting the normal operation of road and maintaining the safty of tunnel construction. Base on the Tu jingchong multi-arch tunnel, the construction mechanical behavior of multi-arch tunnel under existing road has investigated using methord of field measures ang numerical simulations. And the effective construction measures were proposed. The main research contents are as following:1. Data of field measure of the section of Tu jiangchong multi-arch tunnel under exsistion road was analyzed. And the changing regularities of internal force and deformation of surrouding rock and support structure and road settlement were obtained.2. Using FLAC3D finite difference software, construction process of Tu jiangchong multi-arch tunnel was simulated considering actual topography. And the pipe-roof support on the tunnel portal section was simulated by the shell element. The results were compared with the field measure data.3 Based on the analyzing of field measure data and numerical simulation of Tu jinagchong multi-arch tunnel, the displacement construction measures of for tunnel under exsiting road were proposed. And it has been applicated successfully in Tu jinagchong multi-arch tunnel construction.
