Gear transmission system are most widely used as motion and load transform part in all kinds of machines and equipments, which dynamical performance and ability have significant effects on the machines and equipments. In order to improve the transmission efficiency, the system is tended to design to run in high-speed and heavy-load condition. The vibration, noise and distortion caused by high-speed and heavy-load can severely influence the safety and stability of the machine. It is instant to carry on the study on the dynamical property and fault diagnosis of gear transmission system.The property of high-speed gear is different from the ordinary gear. When the high-speed gear device is smoothly running, motion and power is transmitted through high meshing frequency. The state of vibration and impact can be changed by wear, pit, error of manufacture and installation as well as condition of high-speed and heavy-load transmission. Therefore, it is important to correctly detect the fault of gear system. However, as for the traditional condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gear only based on the single-source vibration signal, thus it leads to the incomplete and unreliable information. Full vector spectrum method based on the same source data fusion of rotary machinery was put forward and applied into the fault diagnosis of high speed rotary gears.Information fusion technology has been made achievements in the equipment fault diagnosis fields, and most of the studies are based on characteristics of rotating machine. The numerical algorithm, spectrum illustration and advancement of full vector spectrum are well introduced. Full vector spectrum analysis technology is featured by being comprehensive, direct and easy to be exploited.The major topics are to study high-speed gear and achieve the fault diagnosis of gear through its rotor and gear meshing vibration information fusion. By using full vector spectrum technology, the vibration information can be more correctly and more reliably reflected. Using the method of full vector power spectrum in the fault diagnosis of gear can achieve comprehensive information and high resolution. It is effected for fault of wearing, fitting etc. As far as modulation sources with complex gear fault signal, full information cepstrum analysis method can identify the cycle of the complex spectrum. Full vector Hilbert demodulation analysis method based on the same source data fusion of rotary machine is put forward in order to suppress the noise and demodulation the signal. After careful theory discussion, the new method above is proved to be effective. Full vector Hilbert demodulation technology has greatly improved the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of gear. Practices show it is of great superiority.Based on the full vector spectrum technology, the study of fault diagnosis of high-speed gear don't only advance the further development of the theory of information fusion system, but also rich the gear and the whole gear box diagnostic system. At the same time, they will improve the diagnosis of gear and gear box efficiency and open up new areas of accuracy.
