Power System Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) refers to a rational load dispatch between units in order to achieve the purpose of minimizing the generation cost, it is an important issue in the power system, and also a typical power system optimization problem. This paper uses the improved PSO algorithm to solve the power system economic dispatch. The algorithm is based on particle swarm algorithm, changing inertia weight strategies and improving the best and worst partical strategy are used to improve the global search capability of particle swarm algorithm. Three simulations,3 machines, 13 machines,20 machine system are used to tested the algorithm, the result shows PSO can effectively solve the economic load dispatch problem. The traditional economic load allocation model is not suitable for the present power system requirements. Increasing environmental problems in the form of calls, how to find an effective way to reduce electrical pollution to the external environment is an important issue. This paper introduces a new model that using as little electricity costs as possible while reducing environmental pollution at the same time, that is using multi-object optimize to solve the problem. Then, the multi-object particle swarm algorithm is used to calculate the optimal results. A simulation on IEEE-30 bus standard system shows the result not only meet the requirement of power generation costs are very low but also shows the emissions of polluting gases are very low, which proves the correctness of the proposed model and algorithm.
