As one of the important components of the rear axle assembly in the automobile, the condition of the rolling bearing has great influence on the safety and stability when driving. In order to find the fault mechanism from the inside and the outside which can provide theoretical support for the fault diagnosis, we need to do the dynamic simulation and structure analysis of the rolling bearing so that the fault characteristics and the impact of vibration and noise can be studied, furthermore, the fault mechanism can be formed.This paper presents the relationship between the rolling bearing components, main fault type of rolling bearing and its cause, fault characteristic frequency. The finite element analysis models of the intact rolling bearing, the inner ring pitting corrosion rolling bearing, the outer ring pitting corrosion rolling bearing, the rolling element pitting corrosion rolling bearing, the outer ring and the rolling element pitting corrosion rolling bearing were established based on the boundary and constraint conditions. The ANSYS/LS-DYNA explicit dynamic simulation of rolling bearing was realized. The stress, displacement and velocity distribution patterns of the intact rolling bearing, the inner ring fault rolling bearing, the outer ring fault rolling bearing, the rolling element fault rolling bearing, the outer ring and the rolling element fault rolling bearing were analyzed. On the basis of this analysis, the vibration characteristics and the relationships between the stress change and the state of the vibration were studied. In order to provide theoretical support for the dynamic simulation and analysis of rolling bearing, the signal processing methods were applied to the signals which were collected from the finite element analysis simulation, and the fault characteristics were extracted in time domain and frequency domain, respectively.The simulation results showed that the maximum stress of the rolling bearing occurred at the contact points between the inner ring and the outer ring, the stress level and the stress wave of the rolling bearing components were greatly increased by the pitting corrosion. The stress change in the rolling bearing is the main cause of bearing vibration. Among the intact rolling bearing, the inner ring fault rolling bearing, the outer ring fault rolling bearing, the rolling element fault rolling bearing, the outer ring and the rolling element fault rolling bearing, the descending order of the noise generated by vibration is the rolling element fault rolling bearing, the inner ring fault rolling bearing, the outer ring fault rolling bearing, the outer ring and the rolling element fault rolling bearing and the intact rolling bearing.
