Ultrasonic transducer is energy conversion device, including a variety of piezoelectric effect dielectric, such as quartz, piezoelectric ceramic, piezoelectric composite materials and piezoelectric film, which can convert electrical signal into acoustics signal or convert acoustics signal from sound field into electrical signal. With the rapid development of electronic technology, computer technology and material scientific technology, the Ultrasonic transducer is widely used in industry, agriculture, defense, biomedical and scientific research. Such as ultrasonic chemistry, medical ultrasonic, ultrasonic diagnosis, ultrasonic cleaning, ultrasonic machining, ultrasonic suspension, ultrasonic atomization, ultrasonic emulsification, ultrasonic fatigue testing etc. Piezoelectric ceramic resonance is the main part of transducer, and its property in the paper is studied, which mainly includes the following aspects:1.The thin membrane and shell theory are used to analyze the vibration characteristics of radial polarized piezoelectric cylindrical tube. The characteristic of radial and longitudinal displacement and the equivalent circuit of lumped parameters of different vibrational type are derived. Finally, the mode of radial and longitudinal vibration are analyzed by using the finite element method, and the resonance and anti-resonant frequency are obtained. It is showed that theoretical values basically agree with the simulation results of finite element analysis, which suggests some rules for engineering design and calculations of cylindrical tube transducer.2. The radial polarized and thick shell piezoelectric ceramic thin tube and thin ring is studied, the resonance and Anti-resonance frequency equations are obtained basing on the analytical method, the finite element analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the model of radial vibration, a comparison of results obtained from the theory and FEA with the results obtained from the test shows that the theory is more perfect and brings a certain guiding significance on the practical application. As the thick shell theory is the general situation of radial polarization model, so its application is more wide, which is also suitable for the model of thin membrane and thin shell, and the error is smaller.3.In order to facilitate the optimization design of high-power ultrasonic transducer, the limiting factors of output power for transducer are listed, and the corresponding solutions are gived, Finally the knowledge of electro-acoustics match for transducer is explained 4. The process of analyzing a transducer by finite element method is explained and some issues that should be paid attention to when simulating the transducer are pointed out, and its specific application in the article is introduced.
