Civil Aviation Flight University of China(CAFUC) have more than 200 primary and intermediate training airplanes, all of which are installed by the level of the direct suction-mounted piston engine of the United States. This kind of engine needs to be overhaul after it had been used for 2000 hours, and needs to be put in the running-in performance after overhaul The Aircraft Repair Plant of CAFUC had been working on the overhaul about the LYCOMING engine since 1996.At that time we chose the test cell of Australia HAWKER company to have the engine test. This kind of test cell is adopted by the simple instruments to indicate and test data,which is recorded by the artificial method.But is easily causes more errors. With the increment in capacity, our factory decides to design and set up a test cell by ourselves which can be tested by two engines at the same time. It can be requested to achieve the automatic acquisition and automatic control of parameters in the trial process, improve the test accuracy, reduce the artificial errors.The main contents of research:1. According to the total design way of thinking about the run-in set, the layout of the lord control room and the run-ins will be designed. At the same time, it analyze the piping conjunction layout of engine and run-in set from the car test principle to make sure the frame and constituting of the run-in set. According to pneumatic principle, it discussed a measure of intake/exhaust system design about how to improve energy test efficiency. According to sound insulation principle, it adopted a detailed measure to reduce noise, in the meantime,it introduced the run-in set constitute and function of fire control system.2. According to the demands of the engine test system, it discussed the design and type choose about the hardware of run-in set test system. By analyzing the principle of sensor and data collecting system, it chose the suitable equipment and instruments to ensure the conversion from signals, such as pressure and temperature,to the electric signals. 3. Taking the piston engine named LYCOMING as an example, the customer's requirement analysis on the run-in test system was carried out. Based on this, the function design and database design were carreied out. and design a reasonable practical man-machine interface to make the run-in control process more convenient.4. The the run-in test system was developed with the software named SIMATIC STEP 7 PLC and Kingview. The man-machine interface of this system is reasonable and practical, which can carry out automatical collection and control of the parameter, thus it can raise the test accuracy and reduce the artificial error margin.
