The study object of this paper is Single-cylinder Electric Power Confined Piston Engine (ECPE). Traditional engine-electric generator system and electric power free piston engine are integrated here. At the same time, the advantages of the two technologies are assimilated. As a new power system, it can converse the heat energy released during the burning into electrical energy directly according to the reciprocal motion of engine piston.The paper introduces the traditional combustion engine and generator group system in hybrid vehicle area and the background of the Single-cylinder Electric Power Confined Piston Engine. The structure and technical features of Single-cylinder Electric Power Confined Piston Engine are introduced, the advantage and shortcoming of three kinds of heat to electricity converse system are analysed and compared. The analyse results show that ECPE can change heat energy produced by burning to electric energy simply high efficiently and expediently and is a new energy-saving environmental heat to electricity converse system.The working principle of Single-cylinder Electric Power Confined Piston Engine is introduced and the kinematic and dynamic model is established. Compared with traditonal engines, ECPE can produce sine-wave current, the volt can reach 210 V in no-load condition. Magnetic field is analyse with finite element. Finite element program is established with large-sized finiete element software. The magnetic field distribution of active cell displacement is calculated, including the magnetic field distribution when active cell in the position of quadrature axis and direct axis, the results are shown in graphics directly. The research lay theoretical and practical foundation for knowing the relation of no-load generated voltage and loaded electric magnetic force and determining the structure of electic engine. The program is universal and can be used in magnetci field analyse in rectangular coordinate system, polar coordinate system and circular cylindrical coordinate system. Deeper knowledge of the performance of electic engine in no-load and loaded condition is achieved. The simulation result can be used as a reference basis of product optimization and promotion.
