Control environment agriculture has attracted more and more attention around the world as an important way in sustainable agricultural development. Greenhouse is a typical application of installment agriculture. The realization of Greenhouse environmental monitoring, having the initiative to adjust the temperature, humidity, light and carbon dioxide gas concentrations and other environmental factors can provide the best growing environment for the crop and all of this is of great significance to the promotion of agricultural production. Temperature is one of the most important parameters of environmental data which greatly influences the growth of corps. Some of the existing greenhouse temperature control systems have the defect of high costs, wiring problems and other shortcomings; therefore, a cost-effective greenhouse temperature control system to meet the needs of different regions and different crops is demanded.This paper introduces the application and development of the remote monitoring system domestic and abroad. The purpose and content of the research were also given. A scientific and feasible temperature measuring and controlling scheme was put forward aimed at the measurement, transmission and control of temperature data in green house and the hardware circuit and the flow chart of system were also given. System hardware is divided into three parts:DS18B20 temperature measurement part, the temperature control part, PC and SCM communication interface circuit. In the term of software part, the programme of the data collection part and control part were programmed using the combination of the SCM assembly language and C language. C# language was adopted for PC monitor program. The PC serial communication technology is used to connect Microcontroller with PC to stabilize the communications.GSM network has been more mature after years of development. The introduction of GSM mobile communications network technology into greenhouse production and the combination of GSM network and monitoring system has a very good prospect. SMS messaging program of the temperature information was developed based on GSM network in order to control temperature of the green house by the way of GSM network and the reliability, confidentiality of the transmission were also researched in this paper. The system consists of two parts named monitoring center and central station. The core of the monitoring center is the SCM system having the functions of data acquisition, send, display, print and coding. The implementation of software made use of the assembly language. The core of central station is PC having the function of data receiving, storage and the implementation of software took advantage of c # language. The contact between the two was realized by GSM module.Based on the techniques mentioned above, the greenhouse temperature control system was constructed and temperature information collection, transmission have been realized after commissioning. Data acquisition and system debugging experiment have been carried out in the greenhouse for a week and the data have also been analyzed. The results show that the system is stable and reliable.In this system, low-cost microcontroller and SMS modules were used and the original vision of "mobile monitoring center" have achieved. All of this is of great significance in reducing the labor intensity of production, improving equipment efficiency, extending equipment life, increasing the efficiency of production and the output rate of resources, reducing the adverse influence on agricultural production by natural environment deterioration and it also will be very important in realizing sustainable development of greenhouse crop production.
