The occurences of processing tomato virus diseases were widely investigated in Fukang, Manas,Changji,Shihezi,Kuitun,Wusu in North Xinjiang during July to August in 2009. The results showed that there were obviously difference in the occurences of processing tomato virus diseases in the six regions of North Xinjiang.Top yellow leaf occurs on processing tomatoes in the six regions, and mainly were fernbrake leaf and mosaic in Shihezi,Kuitun and Wusu, exceptly Fukang,Changji,Manas. For the four viruses, the 138 processing tomato samples collected from different regions were detected by RT-PCR. The results showed that CMV and ToMV were only detected on processing tomato in Shihezi,Kuitun and Wusu, but TSWV and TMV were not detected in the six regions. The detection rate of CMV and ToMV was at 39.1% and 28.3%, respectively, and the mixed incidence was 23.9%.From June to September in 2009, periodical investigatioans on the virus diseases of processing tomato were made in fixed place in the Institute of Shihezi Vegetable. The results showed that the field symptoms of processing tomato virus diseases were fern leaf,mosaic, leaf streak necrosis, bushy top,top yellow leaf. As time passed,the virus symptoms were increasing in the field. Through the molecular detection on 660 processing tomato samples collected from different varieties and different periods in the Institute of Shihezi Vegetable, the results showed that the detection rate of CMV and ToMV was at 21.5% and 12.1%, respectively, and the mixed incidence was 8.9%. The incidence of CMV was higher than ToMV,but there was no obvious difference for the dynamics of ToMV and CMV among varieties. The beginning occurrence of CMV and ToMV appeared in June 25 and July 11, respectively. The peak period of ToMV and CMV was all in the middle and late of August, the mixed infection were in the end of July.The processed tomatoes for Liger 87-5,Jiahe-2,Hongfan-9,Shihong-1,Shifan-3,Zuanshihong-2369 were inoculated by CMV and ToMV. By RT-PCR detection,the results showed that the disease resistance of differrent varieties for processing tomato were different. After CMV and ToMV were inoculated to the processing tomato, Zuan-2369 and Hongfan-9 were no symptoms, but the remaining varieties had different necrotic streak symptoms, CMV and ToMV were detected from the six varieties, therefore,the disease susceptibility for the four varieties was strongger than Zuan-2369 and Hongfan-9. After CMV was inoculated to the processing tomato, for the 20 days, six varieties were all no symptoms, but CMV could be detected, so they have some disease tolerance for CMV. After ToMV was inoculated to the different varieties of processing tomato, for the 15 days, Shihong-1 and Jiahe-2 showed mosaic symptoms, and the other varieties were no symptoms, but ToMV could be detected in the six varieties of processing tomato, therefore, the disease susceptibility of Shihong-1 and Jiahe-2 were strongger than the other. By the diseases symptoms and the results of RT-PCR, Shihong 1,Jiahe-2 and Liger 87-5 were higher susceptibility varieties. Shifan-3 was susceptibility variety. Zuan-2369 and Hongfan-9 were disease tolerance varieties.
