This thesis is a tentative research towards RS image spectral feature of forest burnt scars during recovering process in inland of east Fujian province. The methodology utilized in research is summarized as follow:First, analyze temporal spectral variation of vegetation through analyst of spectral data collected from burned forest area.Then analyze space-temporal RS image spectral feature of burned forest during recovering process based on processing and interpretation of sequential RS images in two periods respectively (1978-1984 Landsat MSS and 1999-2009 TM/ETM+). The analyzed spectral features include temporal spectral feature of single forest burnt scar, temporal spectral features of different forest burnt scars on one image, vegetation index spectrums of single vegetation in different periods, The same image different vegetation index in different periods, vegetation index of the same forest burnt scars in different periods and Biomass instructions of the Forest Restoration in the Forest Burnt scars. According to research, forest suffered from serious fire with proper artificial care recovers well within the first five years. The recovering tendency is reflected from spectral feature of image. According to result of vegetation index inversion, the vegetation indices (DVI,RVI,PVI,NDVI,SAVI,SARVI) have an increasing tendency during first five years. Though from the sixth year, the vegetation index fluctuates with year, from the long term, the whole tendency is increasement.Furthermore, some indices closely related to chlorophyll has positive corelationship with forest biomass during forest recovering from fire. Summarily, this research can serve as effective scientific reference for forestry authority in forest recovering management.
