The biological property was researched in the different types of phyllostachyspubescens stands, which located in five different sites. Results were attained about the soilmicrobial dynamics; the changes of biological property in the soil after weed killer was used; thedifference in the soil microbial communities, microbial activity and soil enzymes between themixed stands of phyllostachys pubescens and the pure stands of phyllostachys pubescens; thechanges of soil biological property after management; and correlation between soil biologicalactivities and soil chemical characters. The amount of the culturable microbial was largest in the July, when it was suitable to thegrowth of soil microbial which can be cultured in the lab. However, the soil microbial mass, which represents the total microbial mass was at the low level in April and July. The microbialamination was at high level in July and November, while the breath and the nitrogen fixation insoil reach the highest point in the April. Besides, in July, the soil polyphenol oxidase and thephosphatase were in their high level; and in April, the soil urease was most active. However, theobvious dynamics did not happen to protease and saccharase in a year. In a short, the soilbiochemical characters were at high level in April and in July. During this time, the totalmetabolizaion in soil acted greatly.Weed killer did not affect the soil property greatly after a long period. In short time after weedkiller was used, some soil biochemical property was decreased, then it increased at a higher levelthan that in the control, at last, it come back to the level as the property of the control was. However, other properties was not affected obviously in any time by the weed ki1ler.In the mixed stands of phyllostachys pubescens, the cuturable microfauna had few amountthan that in the pure stands of phyllostachys pubescens. However, the soil breath, the polyphenoloxidase, the protease, the urease, the phosphatase in the soil was at the lower level in the mixedstands of phyllostachys pubescens than in the pure stands of phyllostachys pubescens, whichshowed the substance transformation and decomposition in soil were active. The effect on the soil biological property by management was analyzed. Result showed thatmanagement in the control stands affected more biological characters than the extensivemanagement did. So external force, no matter at low-grade or at high-grade, would affect soilbiochemical proPerties at large extend. The correlation analySis showed the soil microbial mass, microbial activity soil empmes wereclose1y related to soil nutrient contend. At the same time, there was close relationShip amongsome soi1 biolOgical properties. Because the protease related more soil nwhent content thanOther bioloptal propertieS, it was intrOduced to be a biological representation of soil nutrienLMomeny the soil exchangeable POsitive ions were related moSt soi1 biochemical characters. So,thot ions should te Paid more attention when re1ationship between soil biological properties'and soi1 nutrien cothent was researched.
