The Study Of Drawf Effects And Application Technology Of PP333 CCC On Lawn Turfgrass Tall Fescue Liu wei (The Department of Grassland Science, College of animal science and technology, Sichuan agriculture university, Ya抋n, 625014,Sichuan) Abstract Tall Fescue (Festuca arundinacia) as a cold season turfgrass is widely planted in Temperate, Subtroptical zone. But the expense of management of the cold season turfgrass is rather high, and 60% of which is spent in clipping. In order to decrease it, some researches were conducted about restraining growth of Tall Fescue with several plant growth regulators. The study have divided into two periods, the first was from March to June in 2000, the second was from Semptember to May in 2001. The biological effects of PP333 CCC and PC, effects on turf quality, and application technology were also probed into together. The results shows that: (1) PP333, CCC, and PC can postpone shoots growing efficiently,and promote lateral growth. The drop of comparative growth rate led to short hight of Tall fescue. At the same time, the decreasing range of comparative growth rate was from 0.19 to 0.44 cmld. So two-peaked growth pattern of cold-season grass changed. Root/shoot rate is enhanced by 9 to 11 percent, while tillers of every grass were more 1 to 4.5 than control. After treatment, chlorophyll concentration and chlorophyll composition improved to a certain extent, means were significantly different from control at the 0.01 level. The content of GA and IAA dropped, while the content of ABA improved. After 21 days the GA concentration of treatments decreased 41.5 to 62.3 percent from control, the IAA concentration descended 108 1.1399 pmollg.fw, while 47 ABA concentration was 6.3 to 11.08 times lower than control. (2) As for application technology of chemical, it turned out that, many factors affected the stability and lasting times. Among which, the property, concentration, frequency of chosen chemicals were relative. The density and growth way limited splended capacity every area of chemicals applied. In the plots of medium density and well-grown turfgrass, 100 or 133m1 every square meter was proper. With the improvement of concentration, the lasting times of PP333 and PC were longthen, but CCC was not so. Increasing frequency of chemicals sprinckled did good to the lasting time. The lasting time treated by PP333 and PC was 2 to 10 weeks, treated by CCC was 2 to 6weeks. And lasting time was 2 to 3weeks longer spaying chemicals ii) Autumn than Spring. As chemical efficiency was concerned, PP333 was strongest and CCC was the inferior. (3) Chemical treatment descended times of mechanical clipping, the expense of management dropped, while turf quality became bad slightly. In 6 monthes growth seasons, 4 times of foliar application of PP333 with the concentration 200 to 600ug/g, the mechanical clipping times decreased 1 8-20times than control; application of CCC with the content of 200 to 1000 ug/g, it reduced 16 to 19 times. While 2 times treated by PP333 at l000ugIg level, mechanical clipping times declined 21 to 23 times. Treated by CCC at the same level, clipping times decreassed 14 to 16 times, and treated by PC clipping times was 11 to 18 times, considering turf...
