Since at first time Olafson reported MD in 1946, it existence a lot of countries such as United States, Australia, England and New Zealand . At frist MDV Chang-chuen 184 was found by Li Rou-min in china , BVD was reported in many regions . MDV can infect Bovine , goat and deer . It was proved on domestic and abroad that deer can be infect MDV . In china Wang Xin-ping reported that the MDV infected to deer , infectious rate was 19.6%-44.4% . In recent years, with developing of the deer industry , a infectious was found in many regions . Its symptom included Diarrhoea , desiccation , leucocyte-reduce and fast Death . The disease was not effect with antibiotic , and it has tall- fatality rate . Deer's growth and development become low when it was to recover from an illness . The kind of disease is already seriously to obstruct the development of the deer industry . Currently, there are many method of diagnosis including virus-isolation . agar-diffuse test, neutralization test, but they have some shortcoming on diagnosis . Now a ELISA method which have good sensitive , speediness and convenient were established to diagnose MD .The MDV immunity globulin was extracted with a good method ( Yang gui-zen : the medical immunology, 1980;430 - 431).The MDV enzyme-antibody was made by a method(Wang shi-ruo , Wang xing-ong , Han wen-yu : Modern animal immunology.1996; 365 -374).Mucosal disease virus (MDV) was detected with ELISA in 228 samples of infecting fawns form four areas . The result was 60% to 86.7% of samples were positive . indication a spread of MDV existed .
