The eel is one of the important exported aquatic products in our country. It is also ahigh risk exported products. By detecting the residues of fluoroquinolones in exported eelproducts in the area of Xia Men, it could not only offer the background materials on theresidue of the prohibited drugs, but also supply a clue for the risk management of thesafey use of drug in aquaculture.The Multiresidue determination of Fluoroquinolones in aquatic product by LiquidChromatography/Mass Speetrometry(LC/MS) has been developed. The standard curvewas rectilinear in the range of 1.0 ng/mL to 200 ng/mL. Good recoveries were obtainedfor all analytes and the limit of quantification were 9.6 (NOR), 6.8 (CIP), 1.8 (ENRO),2.8 (OFL), 8.2 (DANO), 5.4 (SARA), 2.4 (DIF)μg/kg. The limit of detection was 0.5~2.9μg/kg, depending on the analyte and matrix. This method is suitable for raw eel,processed eel, shrimp, fish muscle tissue as a method of quantitative and confirmatory.The limit of detection and limit quantification were accorded with the abroad maximumresidue limit.The usage of QNs remains a possibility in aquaculture, due to its broad specturmactivity, ready availability and low cost. The results showed that certain proportion of lowlevels of residue of fluoroquinolones can always be detected in the exported eel productsfrom the area of Xia Men in 2001 to 2005, but positive sample is reducing.Eel is mainly wild resources, and its growth environment is readly influenced bydrugs used in other animals. So, It is one of the important measures to prevent theprohibited drugs occur in eel products to enforce the management of drug use in otheraquaculture animals and forbid using the prohibited drugs. The reproductive ability of eelis so strong and its growth environment is complicated, thus it is greatly difficult tocontrol the raw materials. In order to guarantee the quality of exported eel products,producer should make a suvery of the situation of the growth water areas of crawfish, andmake the plan of controlling and monitoring regularly. At the same time, the producershould strengthen the detection on raw eel sample.
