The area of Yellow River delta has been formed from the alleviation earth of Yellow River that filled sea. In this area the elevation is low, underground water level is shallow and mine melt degree is high, salt is easily amassed on the surface of land, vegetation coverage rate is low, forestation plant kinds are unitary, salty soil have become the bottleneck of town garden forestation and the construction of ecological environment. Considering the salty soil problem of Yellow River delta, the author has investigated its application condition and the resources of ornamental plant of this area, selected different garden plants that endure salt, studied the enduring salt qualities of garden forestation plants, adaptability as well as the effect of different improving earth measures for the salty soil, expecting to offer practice basis for the ecological garden type city in the area.The growth distribution of the trees that grow in the different salty soil environment have been investigated. At the same time, 0-20 cm,20-40 cm and 40-60 cm the 3 earth layer soil sample have been gathered to test the salt content, the results show that there are 98 kinds saline-alkali soil forestation plant in this area that are subordinated to 39 departments. The 68 kinds in them have been extensively applied. With the degree of salt-tolerance and appreciation value of plant for evaluation factor, we carry on a sieving evaluation to the main salt-tolerance plants. More 20 kinds enduring salt plants are successfully introduced after adopting some measures of improving satirized soil.In different salt content plots, the six kinds plants: Malus Zurmi, Chaenomeles sinensis and Sophora davidii, Chaenomeles speciosa, Hibiscus syriacus and Lagerstroemia indica were planted, their survival rate and height growth quantity in that year were investigated, the results show Malus Zurmi and Sophora davidii can grow in the soil of 0.5% salt content, but the growth of the Sophora davidii is obviously reduced; Chaenomeles speciosa and Hibiscus syriacus can grow in the soil of 0.25%-0.35% salt content, and Chaenomeles speciosa endures higher; The growth of Chaenomeles sinensis and Lagerstroemia indica are restrained obviously in the soil of 0.25% salt content, in the soil of 0.15% salt content the growth is good. The enduring salt quality of Chaenomeles speciosa is stronger than Lagerstroemia indica. More comparison shows that the salt content of soil has obvious influence on the growth of the plants, and in soil that is larger than 0.35% salt content the growth of each kind is obviously reduced, but Malus Zurmi has the good growth in soil of various experimental salt content.The garden vegetation Festuca arundinacea seed were dealt in the salt and NaC1 liquid of the different density, and then sprout rate and initial sprout time were compared. The experiment shows the interval of 5.9-17.6 and17.6-35.1 g/L are sensitive interval in which the seeds of Festuca arundinacea, the liquid of 23.4 g/L and the11.7 g/L NaCl are the sensitive density that Festuca arundinacea seeds sprout.In order to compare the effect on the soil salt content under different improving soil measures, the salt content was measured in different soils and the forestation sections with or without salt separation measures. The results show that the sticky quality earth is suitable to change the original earth, in cave tree planting the sticky earth thickness should be more 60 cm. Using sticky quality earth with the coordination of the separating salt and draining measures, soil salt content can fall below 0.1%, it is notable to improve earth.The survival rate of garden trees, preservation rate and the growth quality of new branch have been investigated after covering grass or laminating, the results show that, covering measure can improve obviously planting survival rate and preservation rate, and preservation rate and the survival rate of laminating forestation are higher than covering grass, and the growth quality of early stage of new branch is higher apparently than covering grass, but the annual growth of new branch has no obvious difference, so firstly laminate to improve the survival rate and then cover grass to ventilate and fatten soil just, to promote garden trees growth.The earth of Yellow River delta is improved with water conservancy project, chemistry and biology improvement measures.
