Remote Sensing is the most important acquisition means of earth resources and environment information in recent decades, and is also one of our country's eight key strategies of discipline during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. Microwave remote sensing as a unique, effective and new remote sensing method, has been got more and more widespread attention in developed countries. With the rapid development of various airborne radar and spaceborne radar, and also with the continuous improvement of data quality of microwave remote sensing data sources, how to effectively extract the various surface information of the earth from the analysis data, becomes a very important problem of microwave remote sensing application study.Microwave scattering property study of the soil is a very important microwave scattering mechanism element, it is the basis of the study on backscattering model for remote sensing and electromagnetic parameters backcalculation. The thesis is studied closely combined with the theoretical analysis and experimental measurements, firstly, the various factors, which affect the microwave scattering property of the soil, are theoretically analyzed and summarized, then the soil samples are measured making use of the laboratory measurement means, the results are compared with theoretical value. The thesis describes the interior scattering measurement system in detail, it introduces the method of calibration, and the calibration results have very high accuracy by the use of time-domain features of vector network analyzer.Since the parameter measured by interior scattering measurement system and the microwave remote sensing scattering coefficient are essentially similar, so the study is focused on the interior microwave scattering measurement of soil. By use of interior scattering measurement system, the backscattering coefficient of soil is measured under different roughness, different moisture and different incident angles, the microwave scattering data of the soil are compared with the IEM simulation results, the existent errors are analyzed, it can lay a good foundation for the deeper research on the mechanism of the microwave remote sensing of soil.
