Objective:To prevalence and influencing factors of post-traumatic stress disorder among patients with cancer to carry out psychological interventions. To provide the information for the psychological and medical intervention. Methods:Cancer patients on the hospital are assessed with the Essen Trauma Inventory (ETI) ,post traumatic stress disorder clinical (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.PTSD) Diagnostic Scale (the Clinician Administered PTSD Cale, CAPS), and Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale Adult(MUIS-A) using cluster random sampling method. The diagnosis of PTSD are made with Diagnostic and Statistical Mental Disorders (ⅣE dition)criteria. Results: There were totally 211 cases, 123 cases for male and 88 cases for female, male took58.3%, female took 41.7%. The average age was (47.8±12.3) years, group between 15 to 35 ages accounted for 14.4% with the number was 30, group between36 to 55 ages accounted for 59.3% with the number was 124, group above 56 years old accounted for 26.3% with the number was 55. The proportion of getting illness within a month accounted for 9.5%, 1 to 3 months accounted for 31.3%, 3 to 6 months accounted for 19.9%, 6 to 12 months accounted for 14.7%, 1 to 3 years was 10.9%, above 3 years was 13.7%. There was 46.0% patients had experienced one traumatic event with the number was 98, 24.6% patients had experienced two traumatic events with the number was 52, 13.3% patients had experienced three traumatic events with the number was 28, 8.5% patients had experienced four traumatic events with the number was 18, and 7.1% patients had experienced five or more traumatic events with the number was 15. Symptom of intruding scores( 4.73±3.09), symptom of avoiding scores(5.01±3.88), symptom of vigilance scores(4.36±2.77), symptom of separating scores (2.97±3.09), total PTSD score would be (14.10±8.58).People scored under 15 points negative group PTSD 128 people, took 60.7% of the whole patients, the average score was(8.37±0.38); PTSD suspicious group-- 28.4% patients scored between 16 and 26 points with the number was 60, the average score was (20.28±0.42); 10.9% patients' of PTSD positive group scores were more than 27 points with the number was 23, and the average score was (29.87±0.68).The average score of unsure sense upon disease was (74.88±5.65), the individual event one scored (3.00±0.23), the lest score was 61 points, while the highest score was 113 points, degree on complexity linking scored(31.18±4.42), degree on undefined complexity linking scored (43.70±5.14).Totally speaking, the male group scored (75.30±6.29), and the female group scored (74.28±4.58), P =0.003 (2-tailed). Score on sense of unsure disease of PTSD positive group was (77.00±4.91) which was more than that of sure disease PTSD non- positive group(74.64±5.69),P=0.000.The analysis results relate degree of linking complexity and PTSD symptom score showed the relevant Spearman coefficient was - 0.225, The relevant Spearman coefficient correlation of Score on uncertain linking degree and score on PTSD symptom was - 0.289, P =0.000; the uncertain sense of disease was divide into three grades, as well as the total partition of PTSD symptom was three grades, the result of grade relevant analysis showed the Spearman coefficient correlation was 0.235, P=0.000. The accuracy of diagnosis and adequacy of the treatment of PTSD is 11.0%(21/191), The number of female patients with PTSD was lager than that in male (15.1% vs.7.5%).Being ill within 1 month, the incidence of PTSD was 5.0%, that of 1 to 3 months was 14.3% , that of 6 months to 12 months wad 16.1%,that of 1 to 3 years was 17.4 %,and that of more than 3 years was 17.2%.The incidence of PTSD of patients with lung cancer in 14.0%, that of patients with Nasopharyngeal carcinoma was 16%, that of patients with breast cancer was 9.5%, and that of patients with other cancer was 8.6%. Using PTSD diagnosis as dependent variable, and general information as dependent variable, I carried out regressing analyses. And the result showed that: women (OR=3.268, 95% CI:1.470~7.268), marital status (OR=4.076, 95% CI: 1.204~13.798), disease duration (OR=1.449, 95% CI:1.074~1.955), traumatic events (OR=95% CI:5.180~28.599) and the Mishel's Uncertainty in Illness Scale (MUIS) (OR=12.163, 95% CI:1.208~2.123), these were risk factors of PTSD. Conclusions: Cancer patients have a higher incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder rate. Female, marital status, number of traumatic events and the high uncertainty of illness may be the risk factors for PTSD.
