| Objective: To study the normal and inflammation of periodontal tissue remodeling in rats underwent orthodontic force, and the expression roles of IL-8 in periodontal tissue. To explore the effects of orthodontic force and inflammation on the remodelling of periodontal tissues. Methods: 60 SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups.Group A have 5 rats with blank control.0.49 N orthodontic force was loaded on the one side maxillary first molars of 25 rats to be group B. After 4 weeks experimental periodontitis was established, group C have 5 experimental periodontitis rats. Group D have 25 experimental periodontitis rats, and same orthodontic force was loaded on the one side maxillary first molars. Group B and Group D were randomly divided into 5 groups at1,3, 5,7, and14 days, and each group had 5 rats. Immunohistochemistry, histomorphometric was utilized to examine the expression of IL-8 in periodontal tissue in each group and area density (AD) of the positive cells were analyzed quantitatively by image analysis system. Results: The expression of IL-8 was observed at a low level in group A,and the expression were increased in group C.The expression of IL-8 was observed to reach a maximum on day 5 and to decline there after in group B,whereas the expression level of IL-8 in group D increased compared to group B and reached the maximum on day 5 then declined slowly. The AD of positive cells in group D were higher than group B,and show a significant difference between two group. Conclusion: Orthodontic force as well as inflammatory stimulus can evoke the expression of IL-8. IL-8 play a important role in remodeling periodontal tissue during tooth movement with periodontitis. |
