The art of chorus is one of the oldest forms of musical culture, and is the most popular and most participated art, which has an irreplaceable role in the expression of inner emotions. This art is a highly comprehensively coordinated art of sounds, which involves the voice itself and the art of vocal language—one that beautifies languages in the vocal cavity. This is an voice combined with music as well as music permeated with the voice. From the perspective of voice singing in chorus and via the summarization and combing of chorus develoment in China and the West, this thesis dwells on basic characteristics of choral singing, similarities and differences of chorus and soloists, features of choral singing, as well as the voice training in different choral works, and on how to sing Chinese and foreign choral music via concrete case studies. Methods used include document collection, development research, analysis, comparison and case studies.
