In the early 90's, backfilled after Archaeological excavation. afterward, a lot of expertes and scholars devoted into researching Xuanquanzhi ruins, maded plentiful researching harvestes.It has been announced as the fifth batch of Key Cultural Relic Unit under State protections by State Department in 2001.2007,The cultural inheritance of the application world of "the Silk Road" work has already began, According to the timetable and plan maded by our country, current Xuanquanzhi ruins protection and management rules already can't satisfy to the request of protection and management. Should re- draw up Xuanquanzhi ruins protection and management rules, insure its history environment and ruins essence can everlasting keep. Prepare for the cultural inheritance of the application world of "the Silk Road" work.After the commission by administration of cultural heritage in Dunhuang of Gansu province, Shaanxi provincial Concervation Engigneering Institute of Mouments and Sites shouldered the work of made Xuanquanzhi ruins protection plan and presentation design, author became a member of the workgroup.This paper take Xuanquanzhi ruins in Dunhuang as a research object. The research based on the analysis and collation of archaeological and historical documents ; unscramble its history position in ancient Silk Road, and its history relation to the Silk Road and Han Great Wall; investigation of the surrounding environment of Xuanquanzhi ruins in Dunhuang. The new judgement of historical, scientific and artistic value of Xuanquanzhi ruins in Dunhuang has been made. Re-unscramble Xuanquanzhi's culture, put forward new cultural connotation.And afresh confirm the Preservation objects.Identified Xuanquanzhi ruins in Dunhuang conservation planning objectives and principia. Protection area and conctruction area have been dertermined, also confirm the heritage and environmental protection measures, made the plan of management.Then, basing the principia-----the premise of ruin's demonstration is permanentlykeeping the history information of ruins, explained the physical attribute of xuanquanzhi ruins, analyzed the reason of damage, gived some protection measures to chose. Based each part of ruin's fettle of protection, past character and degree of importance to confirmed way of demonstration. At last, instructed the concept of ruins demonstration hall design, plane, flown line of visit, sculpt design and how to demonstrate the culture of Xuanquanzhi ruins.This paper belongs to the heritage preservation planning and demonstration designing study.
