Doris Lessing, the gainer of Nobel Literature Prize of 2007, is one of the most important writers of contemporary Britain. She is known as "British Literary Evergreen". In her 50 years of creative career, from the debut The Grass Is Sing to the new The Clefts, Lessing has completed all-inclusive works. Her creation crosses a century, has experienced Realism, Modernism, Postmodernism. Her later novels returns to realism style, but is not a simple repeat. This part can not be ignored in Doris Lessing's creation.Lessing's later novels refer to the works from the late 80's until now, including The Diaries of Jane Somers, The Good Terrorist, The Fifth Child, love Again, Ben, in the word, The Sweetest Dream, The Grandmothers, The Clefts. Even though they didn't exceed her early novels such as The Grass Is Singing and The Golden Notebook in influence and characteristic, but still have their value, worthy of study. First, London is an important city in the world, Lessing described it and we analyze this writing, will help us understand urban literature of Britain and the United States in the 20th century. In addition, under cultural diversity trend of today, it has considerable significance for development of China's urban literature and city cultural, especially for women's writing in contemporary Chinese. Secondly, we should concern skills in creative form of novel, in particular the innovation of narrative skills. Finally, the later novels as a whole, study it from the angle of urban writing, can offer a new perspective and enrich material for the Chinese scholars studying in Lessing. This article chooses the later novels of Doris Lessing, bases on reading the text, uses theories of urban literature and urban culture to study urban writing in her novels.In addition to Introduction and Conclusion, the text is divided into three chapters. Introduction introduces Doris Lessing and her novels, analyzes research of her later novels, pointes out the significance and innovation of this thesis, describes some key words in the paper .ChapterⅠ, ChapterⅡmainly discusses content of urban writing in her later novels and analyzes all aspects of London in it. Chapter I analyzes life in London in novels. First, display "London life" of Lessing from the building of city and the daily life of city, then analyzes the unique "sex space" in London of Lessing from changes of status of men and women in novel and changes of the relationship between men and women in social space. Chapter II analyzes "Marginal Men of the City "in Lessing's novels from characters in the works, Classifies them, discusses their different survival situation. Then we discuss value and significance of this writing. The author concerns various Marginal Men of the City that neglected in city. This reflects Lessing's humanitarian enthusiasm and her deep understanding on world, human nature. Chapter III describes unique narrative style of urban writing in Lessing's later novels, by comparing her with Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde from content of urban writing, narrative skills and form of novel. Then analyzes reasons about this phenomenon from characteristics of the times, special status, literary environment and Sufism. The Conclusion summarizes characteristic of urban writing of Doris Lessing, then discusses aesthetic significance and value of urban writing of Doris Lessing from values of Consumer Society impactions on women's writing, urban literature and city culture in China...
