Since the reform and opening-up, the emergence of "the tide of peasant workers" became a remarkable social phenomenon, it's an inevitable historical product in the period of social transformation. The emergence of peasant workers objectively promotes the process of China's industrialization, but also promote the development of urbanization. They dissociate between urban and rural areas, becoming the link between urban and rural areas, make a significant contribution to the promotion of social harmony. However, in the process of their join into cities from the countryside, facing the changed environment, they will inevitably go through a period of adaptation. This paper selected the peasant workers in Beijing as the research object. Firstly, on the basis of previous studies, through Data-collection methods and case-interview methods, this paper describe the current social adaptation of the peasant workers in Beijing from economic, social, psychological aspects; Secondly, this paper analyze the disincentives which impact their social adaptation in the city from the external and the peasant workers'own. The external obstacles inclued the stitutional obstacles, city resident's prejudice and discrimination and cultural conflict between urban and rural areas, the internal obstacles include the inherent poor quality of peasant workers, the single web of social relations, inferiority complex and the psychology of "Pass traveler from city". Finally, the paper conclude and arrange the available policies and practices in Beijing which promote the social adaptation of peasant workers, affirm the positive meaning, but also point the lacking of the current policies and practices, and the direction which future efforts should be. The Government should create conducive policy environment for peasant workers'adaption, at the same time, create a harmonious cultural atmosphere with city residents, help them uninterruptedly adapt to city life from the economic and the social aspects, ultimately, to form the sense of belonging to city and identity in psychology, achieve social adaptation.
