Life Education is a type of education concerned with a person's full development, which is about imparting scientific and humanistic life knowledge to the individual person, helping him or her foster life awareness, enhancing his or her mental state and cultivating his or her ability for survival.Based on the overall review of the study done on life education from home and abroad, with the Marxist philosophy of life and Scientific Outlook on Development as the theoretical basis,this thesis provides an understanding of the meaning of life and life education and constructs the main content and implementation strategy for life Education of college students, with a view to contributing some help for reference to later research on theory and practice of Life Education of college students.A questionnaire survey on life values of current college students has been conducted before hand and the thesis draws its conclusion based on the causal analysis of the results found in the survey.It is divided into six chapters. Chapter One is introduction, which gives background information for the topic, summarizes the past and present research work done from home and abroad in the field of Life Education, provides a necessary definition of life and life education and puts forward the purposes and significance of this thesis.Chapter Two is the basic part of the theoretical construction of the whole thesis, which probes into the Chinese traditional philosophy of life, western philosophy of life, and Marxist philosophy of life and finally builds up the theoretical basis for this thesis. Part Three, using the methodology of analysis and questionnaire survey, covers a summary of the current situation of Life Education in China, an investigation of college students'life values and an analysis of the causes.The questionnaire survey is conducted among the college students of Lishui College of Zhejiang Province ranging from freshmen to senior students.Through analysis of the results obtained from the survey which partly reflect the practical effects of the Life Education and further investigation upon their causes, this chapter offers a reality basis for the content construction and strategic choice of college students'Life Education. Chapter Four puts forward the purposes and content of Life Education for college students within the view of Scientific Outlook on Development. It is intended to construct the purposes and content of Life Education, which fit the characteristics of current society, within the theoretical frame of Marxist philosophy of life and Scientific Outlook on Development. Chapter Five proposes the implementation strategy for Life Education of college students. The strategy cover four aspects:to transform the concept of education and establish the humanistic one; to build a value centered on the development of the individuals; to set up a curriculum fully reflecting the scientific development of a human being; to choose the various patterns for emphasizing the all-round and coordinated development; to foster an environment with humanistic care and breath of life. The final chapter is the conclusion, which summarizes the significance of the whole research, points out the problems which have occurred in the process and the weaknesses of the research and what should be paid attention to in the future.
