DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) is an international standard that is widely conformed by PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System). The implementation of DICOM is also a critical step for successfully running PACS. Because PACS represents the highest level in the application of medical information system, and it is also the certain trend of the hospital informationization development, so the research on the PACS that conforms to the DICOM standard is still an important task.Recent research in the field of medical images, mainly involving static image analysis, that is, treatment and research are mainly in the standards of static medical DICOM images. The international community started to pay attention to medical multi-frame image study. This paper aims to analyze the DICOM multi-frame file format, realize the DICOM multi-frame file processing and study the DICOM multi-frame file used compression coding mode. The primary work of this thesis includes:1. Study and discuss the DICOM Information storage model and file format in related DICOM standards. Analyze form the beginning of the DICOM multi-frame file format, apprehend of data element format, content and coding. And then analyze the file to obtain basic information, broadcast properties and pixel data of the DICOM multi-frame file.2. Implement some of the DICOM multi-frame file processing in order to facilitate the doctor's further analysis and research, including playing, connection, division and format conversion. And it is a detailed introduction to every module's principles and technical difficulties.3. In the end of the article, it forecasts the future of DICOM medical multi-frame image data compression based on Motion-JPEG 2000, and provides a multi-frame DICOM 3.0 file format based on JPEG 2000.Finally, the experiments are done to show the system validity. The experiment data is ultrasound dynamic images form the Shanghai First People's Hospital. The critical technologies involved in this paper have been applied in the practical PACS, which have shown a good operating result.
