Based On The Tcap Number Portability Study

After twenty years of reform and opening-up, information network of our country has basically become a world-level information communication network. Nowadays, the telecommunication industry all over the world is facing a huge change, the information and telecommunication technologies has gone through unprecedented development, which has tremendous influences on equipment, network service and other aspects and is forming the perspectives of mutual penetration and merge during different industries. Service providers make various innovations for the sake of a bigger share of the market, and during which trend, the noun phrase, 3G (The third generation communication system) gets into the customers'view. Service providers begin to promote the application of 3G network and struggle for the customers in the field after finishing the internal testing or pilot work. How to coordinate the transition among 3G, the existing second generation mobile communication and the stable network? How to get a greater customer group in the way of 3G? These issues need to be considered by all service providers positively and therefore, the relevant technology of number portability has become an important part concerning whether the 3G network technology can be popular in our country."Number portability"(abbreviated for NP) indicates that service qualities are not influenced with the original numbers invariant while a service network(M) is connected to the other one(N). Both service networks M and N not only belong to the same service provider but to different service providers.The main contents of this thesis are how to realize the access to the NP system through the GSM network and make the general plan and detailed design of the NP system based on TCAP. At the very beginning, the paper gives a general introduction to the NP system and the relevant background knowledge concerning GSM. Based on the MNP standard of 3GPP Institution and aiming at various dominated solution schemes, this paper makes a deep analysis on the relevant technology models and determines the signal trunk as the final scheme. It formulates the plans and schemes concerning hardware and programming, based on the NP system of TCAP, projects the sub-modules of the NP system and summarizes the relevant testing and remaining problems.
