Market research is an important element in the marketing area. It connects the customers, clients, the public and marketers by information. It confirms the information to illustrate the problems, designs the methods to collect information, monitors and implements the process of data collection, analysis, and gives the findings and their implications to customers.This paper attempts to set out through the introduction of advanced information technology to establish an access method for a wide variety of market research information platform, and strictly control access to objects and the process of the respondents, accurate access to data collection. The users of this platform can be corporations, companies, groups, and any decision-making level managers or individuals of enterprises and institutions. The purpose of this platform may be in order to develop long-term strategic plan, it could be a stage for the formulation of a question, or against a specific policy or strategy for reference. The research established on the platform may be academic, or it can be practical.At first, this paper describes the current situation of the combination between the information technology and the market research, introduces several commonly used IT products for market research applications, sums up the advantages and disadvantages of these products. Then, this paper analysis the objects and the processes of the market research, try to build a unified information platform to perform different types of market research methods to resolve the existing problems in the market research. By studying the case in the author's practical work, the paper describes how a unified information platform to implement a multi-process market research.The main research results of this paper have these respects:(A) By researching and summarizing the market research business model, based on the existing IT applications of market research industry, this paper described the detail business requirement specification of an integrated IT platform for market research.(B) Based on the market research business model, using the advanced IT technology, this paper specified the function points of the integrated IT platform, and gave out the modular division of these function points. (C) Combined with the above findings and an actual case, this paper made a detail description and specification of the integrated IT platform for the market research. And through the result of the example case, this paper corroborated the feasibility and the advancement of the proposed platform, make out new ideas and methods to resolve the key issues in the market research such as the diversity of the implementation means.
