Along with the supply chain management becomes more and more attractive, many enterprises are paying attention to a new stock pattern - Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI). As one kind of new stock management strategy, VMI reflects supply chain integration, emphasizes the mutual cooperation of upstream and downstream enterprises, simplifies the supply chain links and benefits all the enterprises in the supply chain jointly which is an effective inventory management strategy. However, according to the implementation of VMI, there are still some problems. For example, suppliers do not have the core competitiveness of logistics operation. In order to solve the problems, numerous suppliers seek the help of Third Party Logistics (TPL). This thesis studies how to integrate VMI with TPL effectively and what influence on the integrated supply chain. This has an important significance in theory development and practical application of VMI. The main contents are as follows.ChapterⅠ, Introduction. This chapter introduces the background and significance of the thesis. Then, the chapter points to the main content and the technical line.ChapterⅡ, Status quo of VMI and TPL and question. overview The chapter gives a general overview of TPL and VMI. Then The chapter indicates the defects and raises the question.ChapterⅢ, Analysis of the integrated model. The chapter analyzes the VMI operation mode, points to the difficulties in the implementation of VMI, summarizes the factors affecting the implementation of VMI, analyzes the feasibility and necessity of integration of TPL and VMI. Lastly the chapter analyzes the operational flow.ChapterⅣ, Building mathematical model of VMI based on TPL. This chapter will build mathematical model for quantitative analysis. The model considers the supply chain structure with a supplier and multiple distributors. The demand is random and obeys a probability distribution. And the model allows out of stock and considers a certain service level. And the mathematical model is based on distributed VMI operation mode and the TPL Supply-hub integration model. The results are got by numerical simulation through Matlab programming At last the thesis analyzes the sensitivity of some parameters in the model.ChapterⅤ, Empirical analysis of integration of TPL and VMI. The chapter confirms the feasibility of the model through an empirical analysis of actual cases.ChapterⅥ, Summary. The chapter points out the shortcomings of this paper on the basis of summary of the full text.
