Research On Current Situation Of Iron And Steel Products Trade Friction And China's Countermeasures

Iron and steel industry is the basic industry of the national economy. It plays an important role to one country's economic development. In recent years, with the development of iron-steel industry, China's iron and steel product export volume has been growing rapidly. At the same time, trade friction arises frequently, and shows an increasingly intensive trend. After the financial crisis, the competition in global steel market has become more intense, especially to China. Anti-dumping, anti-countervailing measures and product-specific safeguard measures have already become a big problem that has seriously affected the benefits of China's iron and steel enterprises in export trade. How to deal with trade friction has become one of the major problems that need be resolved by China's iron and steel enterprises.Firstly, this paper analyzes the current situation of China's iron and steel products exports and trade friction, and tries to find out the causes both domestically and internationally, then it points out that the trade friction is influenced not only by those practical factors, but also by the political and economic Game between two countries, the competing among different interests groups of import country, etc. Secondly, in accordance with China's foreign trade friction effect model, this paper analyzes how the trade remedy measures, such as anti-dumping, anti-countervailing measures and product-specific safeguard measures, impact the welfare of import and export country comparatively. It also points out that if we handle with the trade friction positively and settle them in a proper way, it will have a good impact on China's steel industry. Finally, this paper gives some problem-oriented solutions in order to reduce trade friction and improve the export benefits of China's iron and steel enterprises.
