On Thursday July 21st,China abandoned the 11-year-old peg of its currency, the yuan, at 8.28 to the dollar. From now on, the yuan will be linked to a basket of currencies, which called"managed floating exchange-rate regime". It not only influence the currency rate, but do directly the situation of Chinese import and export. The article introduce the character of settlement about marine transportation, freight forwarding and shipping agency. And argue the influences on the profit, asset and liability of these enterprises because of the Chinese yuan revaluation, at the same time discuss the influences on the import & export and consequently affect to the harbor and marine transportation.Faced the influence on the operating and finance aspects about marine transportation, freight forwarding and shipping agency the article advances the principle of foreign currency risk management, the foreign currency business management programs and the foreign currency management programs. At the operating aspect focus on the settlement currency and currency rate management, the risk management, the change of the structure of revenue and cost or valuate method,the credit management and so on. At the financial aspect these enterprises need to enhance the capability of cash flow forecast, reduce the holding level of foreign currency and choose the finance instrument to hedge the risk. And the article advice the group companies to cooperate with the commercial banks and centralize the foreign currencies among the group under the foreign currency management policies in existence, then match the foreign assets and liabilities, reduce the holding level of foreign currency and enhance the finance income.
