S Software Project Cost Management Studies

The cost management is the key problem among the software project management. At present, the scale of most software enterprises is not very large, the phenomena, such as software projects are postponed, budgets are overspent, the quality of products is inferior and projects are failed, are very severe. Because existing experiences and theories about software cost management are mostly applied to complicated projects of large-scale enterprises, it is important to discuss the software cost management for small-scale enterprises.A vision from a project manager, this dissertation discussed the concepts and characteristics of software project cost management; argued about the typical theories about cost management systems and the typical cost management method models, such as the system info of PMBOK, the model of COCOMO; compared and analyzed their theories, peculiarities and limitations respectively. According to the application in the project GZMIS of the real software company --S, an advanced cost management model based on the studying is built. During the process of project management in GZMIS, the cost management processes, such as cost assessment, cost planing, and cost control, were designed in the details, and applied on this software developing project, and a completely scheme concerning on project cost management is presented.
