The software company is a typical representation of the intellectual economy. Its existence and development fully depend on the capability of technological innovation and the intangible assets it possesses—core technologies, knowledge and experience. The core technicians hold a tight control over those elements, which means the talent loss will bring about serious impact to the software company. However, the general management methods may not effectively solve the brain drain problem due to the particularity of the group of employees. Therefore, it is of great significance to conduct a research on how to retain the core technicians as well as their knowledge and experience in the company so that the employees can fully display their abilities and the company can maintain a continuous healthy development.The essay does a research on the management strategies starting from the existing problems in the management of core technician of N software company. The first chapter illustrates the background and causes of the topic selection, research methods and content framework and summarizes achievements in the research field both at home and abroad. In the second chapter, the current situation of the core technician management is analyzed with the SWOT method, pointing out the management problems and their causes. The third chapter discusses the characteristics of core technicians, their primary demands and four key incentive factors, and on the basis of the analysis, advances the adjust measures and basic principles of the management strategy. The last chapter gives a detailed illustration on the specific contents and the way to realizing the management strategy.The essay attempts to convey that the human resource management of the software companies should focus on not only how to retain and stimulate the core technicians, but also how to reserve and transfer the knowledge they possessed. A combination of both points can decrease the damages to the company from the talent loss, achieve the continuous healthy development of the company and finally establish a harmonious and mutual-beneficial development relationship between the software company and the core technicians. The essay aims to offer other software companies some ideas on core technician management for a reference.
