Rules Of Origin In Regional Economic Integration Organizations In The Practice And Theoretical Research

Under the background of globalization, rules of origin today does not limit itself within the identification of export product, foreign trade statistics, it is also used as non-tariff barrier so as to protect domestic vulnerable industry and encourage and attract foreign investment.After China's entry into China-ASEAN, optimizing and utilizing the rules of origin to better serve China and the whole free trade area's economy especially the foreign trade sector is coming into focus.Based on the fact that Regional Economy Integration Organizations do not have the duty to the WTO Agreement on Rules of Origin, the thesis tries to demonstrate that Rules of Origin of Regional Economy Integration Organization can be used as an important instrument to pursue trade objectives both from theory and illustrations of utilizing rules of origin in European Union and North American Free Trade Area.This thesis analyzes and evaluates the current overview status of Rules of Origin in China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Based on relevant theories on rules of origin and practice from European Union and North American Free Trade Area, suggestions are put forward to perfect the rules of origin in China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
