With the development of information technology, the reliance of financial innovation to the technology, the relevance of bank business to the technology, the comprehensive capabilities of the bank financial technology, especially the caliber of the business demand, software, integrated system and network technology, will decide the bank financial innovation competence, and become one of the major standards to measure bank's competitive ability.The commercial banks in China still have a large difference compared with the foreign banks regarding the comprehensive abilities, which can't satisfy the variety of clientele and demand of specific products, the market competitiveness is not strong. This thesis is trying to analysis the impact of information technology on the innovation abilities of commercial banks in both theoretical and case study methods, reflect the innovation realities China's commercial banks faced, and provide reference for increasing the innovation and the core competition abilities of our commercial banks.The thesis has five parts in total.The first part starts from macro and micro economic theories, introduce the basic theory of commercial bank innovation area and the new bank innovation concept, define its conception to build up the foundation for further suggestion and case studies.The second part introduces the impact of technology development on the commercial bank business, and lay down for the following analysis.The third part explains the need for our commercial banks'innovation from the macro environment change, client need change, market and clientele change.The fourth part based on our information technology realities, introduces the current stage of our commercial bank's business innovation.The fifth part based on the previous parts analyses the strategies to improve commercial banks'business innovation abilities to provide reference for increasing the competition power. The competition among banks in the future will not only bein the low price and network relation competition, the battle for client and market share is more on the service means, service standard and information technologies competition as well as the ability for product innovation relied on the information technology.This is also the reason for the thesis that our commercial banks should improve the business innovation system and management information system to increase their financial innovation abilities and market competition power.
