Since 1990s, the globalization and liberalization of the world finance has been rapidly evolving into an irresistible historic trend. As for developing countries and areas, the situation of the financial sector is usually the bottleneck of their economic development. Facing the same challenge, China, the largest developing country in the world, has more urgent and arduous burdens on her own shoulder.With the help of numerous tables and data, this thesis employs both theoretical and practical methods to comprehensively analyze and sum up from horizontal and vertical angles respectively to get to the conclusion originated from some personal ideas. The whole thesis is composed of four main parts. The first chapter summarizes the theories on financial reform and opening from foreign and domestic scholars, which indicates that financial liberalization is the certain result of the financial development and the financial liberalization in developing countries should be gradual. The second chapter analyzes the cases of Chile and Korea. From the practical analysis in this chapter, we can get some useful conclusions for China's financial reform and opening. The third part discusses the situation of China's financial reform and opening, concluding its achievement and problems. In the last chapter, the author analyzes the challenges faced by China's financial industry in the future opening, and gives some practical proposals on this issue.
