Special Vehicles More Variety, Small Batch Production Mode

With the development of economy of China, the development of special vehicle production is becoming faster and faster. Under this situation, domestic special vehicle manufacturer would face many problems. To build one new production mode instead of tradition one, which could increase production efficiency, improve product quality and cut production cost, is significant for domestic special vehicle manufacturer. In addition, Group Technology (GT) was proved to be one way to improve multi-categories and small batch production. So, study of new special vehicle production mode based on GT should be helpful for other industries.First of all, according to the characteristic of special vehicle production is multi-categories, small batch and unbalance, a new production mode which is intermediate goods oriented is set up to replace the initial one in this paper. It combines with related knowledge of Group Technology such as spare-classify coding system and group production cellular. The mode, which regards group technology as direction, is actually a flexible production line based on specialization manufacture of intermediate goods.The second, activity management and activity-based costing are introduced while their application for special vehicle production is discussed in this paper. Manufacturer could take advantage of activity-based costing system to get accurate information for management under the new production mode.
