Disposal Of Non-performing Assets Of The Banking Sector In Korea And Its Implications For China

In this thesis,the author mainly discusses the following three issues: how does the non-performing loan("NPL") of Korea financial organization come into being,what is the scale of NPL,and what the is effect of the measures taken by the government regarding this issue? In Korea,the special financial organization of NLP adjustment is KAMCO(Korea Asset Management Corporation)。After the Asian Financial Crisis,KAMCO played an important role in the liquidation of bad debts.And KAMCO also contributed much to the stabilization of the Korea financial organization. First,this thesis analyzes the background of Korea NPL occurrence,the scale increasing trend and current situation.Next,it observes the causes of NPL in Korea and a way of liquidation of bad debts.Finally,this thesis suggests lessons to China from KAMCO's experience in adjustment of NPL.The structure of this thesis is following:In the part of foreword,I describe the questions to be analyzed in the thesis,their theoretical and practical significance and the originality of this thesis.In Chapter two,this thesis analyzes the background of Korea NPL occurrence,the scale increasing trend and current situation.In Chapter three,I observe the causes of Korean NPL.This thesis analyzes three causes:external and internal matters of the financial organization of Korea and a foreign influence.In Chapter four,I study the method of KAMCO's NPL adjustment.After 1997 East Asian Financial Crisis,KAMCO used Government capital injection for the acquisition and sale of non-performing loan.First of all,the thesis inspects the effectiveness of KAMCO's disposal of non-performing loan.Secondly,it analyzes the problem of acquisition and sale of non-performing loan.The last Chapter five contains a conclusion and suggestion.I summarizes the formation and treatment of NPL and suggest lessons for China.
