Since the 1970s, financial derivatives have enjoyed a rapid development in the international financial areas. With this development and innovation, it has made a great impact on the traditional financial regulation as well, resulting in significant changes in the means and approaches of regulation. Meanwhile, business enterprises and financial institutions in China involve themselves more and more in the financial derivative market. Therefore, it is of great necessity to discuss the regulation of this market. Accordingly, the author has done some research in depth about the relevant issues in the regulation of the financial derivative market in our country; what's more, appropriate suggestions have been put forward in the thesis. On the basis of an all-round introduction to the basic concepts of financial derivatives as well as the regulation of the financial derivative market, the thesis analyzes the necessity of tightening the control of the financial derivative market and reveals the reasons of regulating the financial derivative market from the point of view of economics. Then with the development history of China's financial derivative market in consideration, the thesis analyses the supervision system of the financial derivative market in our country from four aspects, namely, government supervision, self-regulation, the subject of financial derivative trade and supervision across the border as well as international co-supervision. It makes a comprehensive analysis of the problems in the regulation of the financial derivative market in our country. After the study of the regulation models of America and Britain, who enjoy advanced financial derivative markets and rich experience in regulation, the author finds out their common features, sums up their regulation experience and draws inspiration for our financial supervision authority to use for reference. Finally, on the basis of the above analyses, the author makes some countermeasures and suggestions as to how to improve the regulation of the financial derivative market in China, such as choosing effective regulation models, establishing and perfecting the law system of the financial derivative market, strengthening the internal risk control, enhancing the supervision across the border and international co-supervision and so on.
